Introduction

Warzone 2100 is a real-time strategy game, originally developed by Pumpkin Studios and published by Eidos Interactive, now developed by the Warzone 2100 Project. Compared to other real-time strategy games, it has a greater focus on artillery, radar, and counter-battery technologies, more frequent in-game cinematic updates as game play progresses, a massive research tree, as well as a vehicle design system.

Hello,
I saw this game on portable apps and downloaded it for my brother who doesn't have internet at home. I wanted to find a help or guide file I could download for him to make it easier for him to get acquainted with. I'm not seeing one on your site so I thought I'd ask you guys - have you considered copying the guide files to a single seperate folder and using one of those cool handy- dandy htmp help file compiling programs to create a downloadable guide? Freewarefiles.com has an intriguing looking little tool named "Shalom Help Maker"
http://www.freewarefiles.com/Shalom-Help-Maker-b_program_14614.html

entyway - if you feel compelled - this would be a fabulous addition to this already fabulous site.
Thanks for your choice

Not one but three times I have seen all comments wiped out. I consider this as a lack of courtesy towards users. Great game but spoiled by poor management.

I have always and forever been a fan of this game since it first came out. Still have the original red and black box and CD case with three CD's in it. Too bad Pumpkin had to disband, but the people went to other developers and some of the neat ideas from Warzone I have seen in some other games as well, but never in entirety. Made several backups of the game for home use so that I would NEVER lose it. Also downloaded a Deutschen XP patch so that the game would play in the Amerikanischer version of XP. That turned my XP into a German version with German language in all the text windows, etc. But so what, I am a German American with family in Deutschland, one of whom was a Luftwaffe Ace with five kills of Russian aircraft over the White Sea im der ZweienWeltanKriegen. He retired as an Oberst in 1972. I am happy to see that this game yet lives in the hearts of thousands as it does in mine. May it leben forever im der Welt.
The linux version is rock stable. However it has no limitation on how may wells you computer opponent can control. A workaround is to limit the power stations. I have found that game difficulty is controlled as much by limiting the wells each faction can have as well as by setting the difficulty in the settings, perhaps even more. Now the game in its basic form resembles the movie "Dune".

I noticed that on the Addons page that some of the maps get a 404 error. The ones I noticed are TBL X1 - The battlelands X1, Mero FactoryV3, Mero Factory, their was also a map called Annihilators yesterday but it's missing today. I was wondering if that could be fixed, these maps look rather interesting to play. I tried finding someway to contact the people running this site but the links there also did not work.

I've fixed the 404 error when downloading certain maps and mods. I've also fixed the Contact link.

How do i form alliances in skirmish mode??

Anonymous wrote on Jun 20, 2011:

Is there some limit for the quantity of units you can manage?
In the campaign? In Skirmish? In Multiplayer?

Anonymous wrote on Jun 23, 2011:

I think you can select as many units as you can see, however there is a limit to how many units you can build.

I have been haveing promlems with the multi games, it does not alow me to host a game... says something about port 2100 or something like that. Can anyone help me? Do you need the specific message to help me?

Anonymous wrote on Jun 23, 2011:

Also when play on different computers(its downloaded on my USB) it says cannot find "al32" or whatever and will not play the game, help on this as well please.

Anonymous wrote on Jun 28, 2011:

openal is a freeware audio .dll and to fix that problem takes some techincal knowlege fist find the missing .dll and place it in the folder the game .exe is located or you get a openal installer and run it on every computer you want to run the game on
i hope this helps ;)

I have a question regarding research in team games, some research upgrades have a heart next to them and the name of a teammate.
Does researching those upgrades help your teammates or something?

Well, i first thought, that this is just another dated RTS...
Oohh, how wrong i was. This is an interesting and very well maintained rts game, it has TONS of tech tree upgrades, and gear combinations, so you can play the way you want.
Works on Windows 7, flawlessly, the AI is also good enough.
And you cant go wrong with only ~250mb (around 100 without video files)!!!
And even better, if you EVER get lost in the game, just check the documentation on this site.

Any chance of getting this guide in a downloadable format? Big fan of playing WZ on my linux netbook, and having a quick ref. guide on my android phone would be freakin' amazing.

Been playing WZ since I found the demo on the Gex3D PS1 disc. Really great work guys ^.^
