Alpha 1: Scavenger Raiders
Build a forward base
Time limit: unlimited
As may be expected, the first stage of this game is fairly easy. Wouldn't want to get people to quit playing before they begin. ;)
You should start with three Trucks and four Machinegun Viper Wheels tanks.
Not much of a base, eh? You'll have to build one yourself. Start by building a Command Center, a Factory, a Power Generator, and a Research Facility. As long as you don't go to far to the east, no one will attack you.
Once you move a truck to the east to build an oil derrick, however, small groups of Scavengers will begin to attack you. Your MG Vipers will have no trouble defeating them. Nonetheless, begin manufacturing some additional MG Vipers to assist them.
Search for scavenger outposts
Once you have dealt with the scavengers right outside your base, it's time to start exploring. Manufacture eight MG Viper Wheels, then send them north and east of your current position to attack the nearest scavenger settlement.
Once you have defeated this settlement (which shouldn't be very difficult), you'll find an artifact. Pick it up (click on it) and research it at your Research Facility. When the oil resource cools down, build an oil derrick there, too; it'll give you more money.
| Price | Effect | |
|---|---|---|
| Hardened MG Bullets | $18 |
|
You will want to recycle and rebuild any tanks that are in red or yellow health (don't worry, by the end of this stage, the option to repair vehicles will be available, so this whole repair-rebuild process isn't permanent).
Once your 8 tanks are battle ready again, head north.
Another small base; you should be able to destroy it easily. Upon demolition of this base, you will get the artifact for the Flamer turret. Using it or not is your preference; it will work very well in upcoming stages against almost anything, but its short range means it will also get most of the enemy fire centered on it, and its low HP means it will die quickly. By the time you find heavier bodies and armor to supply it with, you will also have other weapons you might like more, so.... as I said, use it or don't.
| Price | Effect | |
|---|---|---|
| Flamer | $18 |
|
Again, recycle and rebuild your units, and get ready to move west.
This is the first time your units face a credible danger of being lost; be sure they are set to retreat at some level of damage (for now, Retreat at Low Damage is enough).
Once the base goes down, you will get a very useful artifact: the MG guard tower – your first defensive structure. Although it's called a Machinegun Guard Tower, it has a Heavy Machinegun on it, and will do more damage than your Machinegun tanks.
| Price | Effect | |
|---|---|---|
| Machinegun Guard Tower | $18 |
|
And now, it's time for the last base.
You'll want to avoid those flamer towers – they do high damage if you get close, but are harmless as long as you shoot them from far away.
You'll notice one of the buildings is circled. Don't shoot it. Order your units to Hold Fire so they only shoot things you explicitly tell them to attack, and destroy all the other buildings.
| Price | Effect | |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering | $37 |
|
| * Mobile Repair Turret | $18 |
|
| * Tank Traps | $18 |
|
Since there's still one enemy building left, the game won't end, and you can use your free time to research all of this. Build a repair turret tank, and repair all of your damaged units (no need to recycle again!) Now's your time to relax, build oil derricks anywhere you need to, and maybe fortify the southern edge a bit.
Once you're ready, move all your units to the southern end, destroy the last structure with a tank or tower, and it's time for Alpha 2!

No use to build or ue so many units.
I just take 1 of the 4 at the beginning, just recycle it as many times as needed.
When handling the bases, i go to 2 units no more, so i can get quickly a lot of exp for my next coming commander.
To have less units even later (i finished alpha with 12 units no more) makes the game more fun, and i feel even more efficient, high exp bonus is very profitable!!
So i don't build too much defense too , there are far too much defense building in this walkthrough

You can use the base at the second defended oil resource to produce unlimited enemy units; the last two enemy bases will stop producing units after a while, even if this base is left intact. If you leave this base you can milk it for experience as long as you want: give yourself an heroic level commander or two; you really don't need more than two for this game. I once used this base to get all 100 of my possible units to heroic level; this took a week and did not noticeably increase my enjoyment of the game.
Of course you can always just activate the cheats to give yourself heroes, but, for some of us, exploits are somehow more honorable than cheats. There is not much point to giving yourself more than 40 hero units as you cannot take more than that into the next third of the campaign.
A couple of heroic level commander units will greatly enhance your forces and should not take you more than a day; maybe 4 hours; to achieve: Take two tanks and corral them inside a rectangle of tank-traps along with two trucks (to repair the tank-traps) and two repair-trucks (to repair themselves and the other vehicles). Make the corral four tank-traps deep and 5 tank-traps across. The rectangle needs to have one corner close enough to the scavenger factory so that enemy units will target the tank traps as they exit the factory, but far enough away that your tanks will not hit or target any of the enemy structures. All three enemy structures; the oil-derrick, the power station, and the factory; must remain intact for this exploit to work.
Every once in a while the scavengers will sneak out of the factory without targeting your tank-traps and will accumulate to the sides ad behind the scavenger base, and this can sometimes cause the scavengers to reach their unit limit and stop producing more experience for you. When this happens, just send an unarmed unit near the scavengers to lure them out into target range of your two tanks.
The great thing about this game is that it does not automatically pause when minimized, so you can set this up and then entertain yourself with anything else while waiting for your units to reach 1000 experience.

how exactly do you recycle!

select the unit/s, then right click on one of them and a command menu will come up. There is a "return for recycling" and a "recycle" button at the bottom of this menu. if the unit/s are close enough to a factory you can press the "recycle button" to recycle them. If they are not, the "return for recycling" button will automatically make them go to the nearest factory so you can recycle them.

How to Train Heroes While You Sleep :D
Ingredients: Some trainee units, target practice (to be provided by enemy's first factory which is defended by two guard tower), and research centers as sandbag (so the trainee can safely fire back at the enemy while the sandbag is constantly repaired by the trucks).
Preparation: Build 2 research center 6 tile away to the south of enemy's base. At 6 tile away, enemy's guard tower can't hit it, but is visible by unit produced by enemy's factory. Those units will approach to strike the research center right away. As they approach, they'll be within range of our unit hiding behind the research center. In the mean time, our trucks will repair the research center. Our tanks must not leave the hiding spot to pursue enemy. So we'll order them to "hold position" (not "guard position"), and "fire-at-will" from "long range". For a while the tanks will leave the hiding spot for unknown reason, but eventually they'll stay hiding, so you can go to bed ;).
