No matter how much I wait (for instance, 45 minutes into "fastplay") I never get the option to research the repair facility, what do I do wrong ? I *need* to repair to gain experience and stop losing units !

you need to reasarch the automated factory upgrade in order to get the repair facility resarch. its the same on the campain and multiplayer.
