It's reloading rate is understandable but it is almost not worth it because of its reloading rate, if you manage to even get one up then use it on a scouted enemy base, by the time you can its not worth it because there are to many bases,(even if you can snag an extra base or two with the blast wave) this is defenitly something to use after a VTOL strike or a transported scourge cyborg raid

I beg to differ, kokiris. Although it does take 5 minutes to recharge, the laser satellite command post is a very deadly weapon, maybe even a game ender, in the hands of a master, especially when used against clusters of enemy units or structures.

For example, this superweapon can be used to severely cripple an incoming enemy army. Despite being an all-rounder weapon, no cyborg can survive the blast, even with full armor upgrades. Most vehicles don't fare any better, as if the blast doesn't kill them, then the fire damage would most likely do the job, and if that doesn't do the trick (which would be the case with a fully-upgraded Dragon Tracks with, say, 2 Gauss Cannons), then the units that do survive would almost certainly be so weakened that your own units could quickly finish them off.

Most structures could also be destroyed in a single shot by this weapon, even if they had full armor upgrades. An opponent's laser satellite command post could be destroyed in a single blast so that the opponent cannot use it against your own forces. A satellite uplink center can also be destroyed in one shot to deny the enemy their ability to the entire map under surveillance. (By the way, you need to research the satellite uplink center before you can research the laser satellite command post, so by the time that you build your 1st laser satellite command post, chances are that you may already have a satellite uplink center built.) Bunkers may be able to survive the initial blast due to how ineffective all-rounder weapons are against them, but fortresses could survive multiple blasts from a laser satellite due to their extremely high HP.

Finally, one last reason why this weapon is so deadly is because, unlike aircraft (which can be shot down by AA weaponry en route to their target) and artillery (which can be destroyed by counter-battery fire), a laser satellite command post cannot be so easily counterattacked. No matter how well-defended your base may be, the laser satellite WILL hit its target with deadly precision. It doesn't even reveal itself like artillery and aircraft do, and even if you know where the weapon is, it could just as well be defended by significant amounts of base defenses, so actually taking it down with conventional ground and air forces will most likely be a significant challenge.

Use it as a support weapon. Attack an enemy's army or defense with this before advancing with your own.

A great way to use it is in conjunction with plasmite bombers. You can use it to destroy the enemy AA and SAM sites to clear the way for the extremely slow (by VTOL standards) plasmite bombers. The combined power of the laser strike and the air strikes (if you have enough of them) can kill a base in a single run, and anything that survives the initial laser blast or bombing will be decimated by the massive fire damage (the laser has a quick but powerful fire after and the plasmite fires last a while and spread over a large area). Defend it well though, as enemy VTOL's will be gunning for it. It's indisputably a very powerful weapon

I dunno about that, I think it's best to scout the most heavily guarded area - one you absolutely cannot get into no matter what - and take out what is inside it, rather than the defenses, unless the defenses are blocking off the enemy's base entrance.

This is one of those "if i want it blown up, then by god, i am going to blow it up" weapons.
This is good for destroying any enemy targets that are key to your strategy. Alone its not a game winner, but it is a hole maker. Combined with the right strategy and used in the right place, it can be a deciding factor. Make a hole at the right place and follow it up with the right units, and it could change the outcome of a game.
(the point of this is that its unblockable and unpredictable;a new piece on the chess board)

Good weapon. Make sure the enemy loses theirs then attack.

Hi,

I think in the same line as this weapon is not a game ender, rather a weapon to make a big hole. My priority target is enemy's Laser Satellite Command Post and if the enemy does not have it, then I use it according to the situation.
I'm playing 2.3.9 version on windows 7, mostly I play with 2 or 4 player AI. I think the load time of this weapon is less than 5 min for AI.
I have observed it many times, when I destroy AI's LSCP, AI next Laser strike comes even before my LSCP is loaded.

Cheers!!
