Lancers, along with their more advanced counterparts, Tank Killers and Scourge, can cut through tank armor like a hot knife through butter. This makes them an excellent choice for conducting precision strikes against individual vehicles, though you'll need to be careful when using these against groups of vehicles, as they could fire more missiles than are needed to destroy a vehicle, and their rate-of-fire is poor compared to a cannon. Thus, they are prone to overkill.

These things are evil when used even in small groups. A squadron of four or five of Lancer VTOLs can severely cripple if not outright instantly destroy one of my crucial large base structures, such as my HQ. They fly in, blow up my power plant/HQ/research plant, and fly out before my AA guns can put a dent in them.

When I use these on my ground vehicles, these can make a pretty big hit on an advancing enemy army, but since said army is usually made up of powerful weapons like cannons, Lancer tanks, 97 times out of 100, are one-shot deals for me, as they take friggin' forever to reload. I rarely use Lancer tanks because of that
