I think I just found my weapon of choice whenever I need to destroy large groups of tightly-packed ground units while using VTOLs. Just 4 VTOLs equipped with fully upgraded versions of these bombs could probably destroy a single Dragon Tracks unit with 2 Gauss Cannons mounted on it and full kinetic and thermal armor upgrades in a single run (though the same could also be accomplished with 5 VTOLs equipped with fully-upgraded Scourge Missiles). Of course, other units would ideally also be caught in the blast radius, such as some Cyborgs, light or medium tanks, maybe even one or more additional Dragon Tracks units with 2 Gauss Cannons. It's like Warzone 2100's version of a fuel air bomb: a single bomb that's designed to inflict widespread damage over a large area instead of massive damage towards a single target.

I find that the plasmite bomb is Ideal for just glassing an enemy base B) quick, efficent, and when combined with swarms of heavy slow bomber Vtol's has a tendecy to take out 25 to 50% of the base on 1 run...
